Jurassic Park IV Script: What is Going On?

Is Laura Dern back? Will the Dinosaurs have guns? All kinds of rumors have been surrounding Jurassic Park IV, so which ones are true? Looks like none of them.

Possible Release Date: Summer 2008

Director: Joe Johnston (Rumored)

Screenwriter: William Monahan, Re-write by John Sayles (Piranha, Alligator)

Sayles script was rumored to “feature a team of dino-human crossbreeds trained to be a military force” by Entertainment Weekly (issue #903, October 20, 2006).

HorrorYearbook.com reported that it looked like they were going forward with the John Sayles' script, and that Laura Dern was set to return.

"According to various sources it looks like they have decided to use [Sayles'] script for the NEW Jurassic Park."

But it seems that none of it is true, because today Spielberg Films shot down all the rumors:

“Steven Spielberg’s personal reps at Amblin Entertainment (co-producers of the “Jurassic Park” franchise) have told SpielbergFilms.com that casting has not commenced on the film, as the story and screenplay are still in development. While there’s been talk over the years with series stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and most recently, Laura Dern, the property is still not ready to move forward toward production and no casting is taking place.”

We will keep you posted as soon as we get some confirmed facts or more rumors (because rumors are fun!).
