Nightmare on Elm Street Remake, Nooo!
Shit. Variety reported today that fartknocker Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company are set by New Line to "relaunch" (aka remake aka fuck up) the movie series centered on the iconic killer, who haunts the dreams of teenagers and kills them in their sleep. Eek!
The trio will create a new entire franchise based on Wes Craven’s 1984 film “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”
Frredy went down in infamy portrayed by Robert Englund. The Freddy Krueger character haunted nine films and two TV series in what was New Line’s most lucrative franchise until “The Lord of the Rings.”
You may have heard that Michael Bay was busy screwing up the “Friday the 13th” franchise too. Why not kill 2 legendary horror figures with one stone?

New Line won’t hire a writer on “Nightmare” until the writers strike ends. Maybe there is hope! Nah...
P.S. They are also busy contemplating a way to screw up the Near Dark and Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” remake as well.

Enough!. The only thing that could be worse than this is if they replace Robert Englund. It's not like Jason or Michael. Freddy is Freddy because of Englund. You don't have Englund, you don't have a movie. If they are dumb enough and hate the fans enough to replace Englund, then imagine the huge storm that will be a brewin'. I'm all for a Freddy return, but not a remake from Michael Bay!!!.
This is worst news ever!! We are so against this that we're organizing a protest in support of Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger. This is the worst news ever. Robert Englund and the fans of horror deserve much more respect than this. We need to fight it!
