Let the Batman 3 Rumors Begin: Johnny Depp - Philip Seymour Hoffman - Angelina Jolie
Remember the original Batman franchise -- part 1 & 2 directed by Tim Burton? Do you remember how quickly they went to crap, once they started adding too many characters and flavor of the month celebrities? Chris O'Donnell, Alicia Silverstone, three villains, two sidekicks, all in one film! Well hopefully the new Batman franchise doesn't let history repeat itself and dodges the dreaded Trilogy slump. Maybe they should quit while they are still ahead.
First Rumor - A source told the Telegraph: "Producers are convinced that the role of The Riddler is perfect for [Johnny] Depp. Johnny’s a pro. He’ll be able to take direction and still make the character his own."
While some fan boys may cringe at the mention of Johnny Depp, he has never let me down. Picturing him as The Riddler may be kind of hard, however Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin makes my stomach turn.
Second Rumor - Telegraph: "What better Penguin is there than Philip Seymour Hoffman?"
How about NO Penguin and screw Hoffman. The guy has been making movies since 1991 and no one cared about him until 2005. Real movie fans had been watching Hoffman for years, but once again, him winning an Oscar for one role made the rest of the movie going public notice him. Not that I have anything against Hoffman. I just have a thing against people who are now just getting around to telling me how great he is. Think Halle Berry's Catwoman and Jack Nicholson's Joker. Hoffman is one of those actors that is just Hoffman in a new role. He may have nailed Capote but that was his one moment in the sun.
Third Rumor - Geeksofdoom.com: Julie Newmar (Catwoman- 1960s Batman TV show) says she heard that Angelina Jolie, "made inquiries about the role [of Catwoman]." She also gave her endorsement saying she thinks Jolie would be great for the part. This one is a far stretch and most of the Blogsphere agrees it is probably very far from the truth.

Depp as the Riddler I could see.
Doesn't anyone think that Johnny Depp would make one hell of a JOKER himself? In my opinion, he would be the only one that could really bring the same presence to the part as Heath Ledger did.

I think Johnny Depp will do an outstanding job as "The Riddler" but Angelina Jolie would not do a good job as Catwoman, and penguin man I also think that Hoffman may do a decent job.
I hope Johnny Depp is cast!
Johnny Depp is an amazing actor. If they cast him in the third film it'll be amazing... if they even make a third film, which contrary to a bunch of people's thoughts, would be an awesome film.
These are all just rumors though, Nolan isn't even thinking about a third film, and there won't be any penguin according to any source that has a lick of credibility. Oh, but I hope they make a third film, and with Johnny Depp too, it'd be amazing.
I think Johnny Depp would be perfect for the part. He's a great actor and besides, he chooses the parts no other actor would even touch. That's what makes Johnny great, he does a great job in all his movies and if he played the Riddler for the Batman movies he would make the movie a hit. Johnny can make the character both serious and funny all at the same time and keep it true but still manage to make the character his own with out following other roles.

i really cant imagine anyone playing THE JOKER after Heath Ledger :( Except Johnny Depp cuz he can play any kind of roles from Edward Scissorhands to Jack Sparrow to Willy Wonka
