Idol War Season 2 -- The Rules

Last season on Idol War, “The Colonel” Gary G. came up from behind and stomped the hell out of Andrew “Mickey” Walsh’s team to claim the top spot. This year, Mickey is back and out for blood, but he’s not alone in gunning for the top spot. Horror Yearbook and 2snaps editor-in-chief Wil will be joining the fun and making his own play for the title.

After a summit in the 2snaps war room, the details of this season’s competition were hammered out.

Here’s how it works:

Each of the three team captains will, through a schoolyard pick, choose four players for his respective team. The captain will have one hundred points each week to divvy up between his players after watching them perform. If a player stays, he keeps those points, but if a player is eliminated, he loses those points. At the end of the season, the captain with the most points is declared Champion of Idol War and is entitled to a CD of his favorite performances from the season.

Since there are thirteen contestants this year, and three captains, it has been decided that the first week of Idol War will begin with the Top 12, giving the captains one extra week to evaluate the singers before making their choices.

Will “The Colonel” hold onto his crown? Will Mickey have his revenge? Can Wil stay more sober than Paula? Tune in every week to read the results and coaches critiques of their players in addition to our normal American Idol coverage.
