The Taylor Hicks American Idol Conspiracy Theory

I don't understand why Taylor Hicks remains America's favorite whipping post. I'm not a member of the infamous Soul Patrol but I do enjoy Taylor's music and feel he has talent.

I really wish y'all would lay off the man and just let him enjoy his career....is that so hard to do?

Taylor Hicks is one of the greatest entertainers to win American Idol. His voice is special, but he doesn't put other entertainers down because they are different. Like he says each has their own niche and he is succeeding in his. He is friends with my past idols and helps promote them. I love his music and the new CD, The Distance. Its different genres are a breathe of fresh air. congratulations to this hard working music man and the joy he us.

Taylor's number just came in at selling 7,000 for the week. I for one talked to the distributor at Anderson's merchandising in Amarillo, TX and they said that Taylor's cd's were overlooked being shipped out for the release date, even though they were there for 2 weeks prior to the date. They are a vendor for Wal-Mart and so Wal-Mart stores did not receive Taylor's cd's. I called everyday and mine finally arrived at my store on Monday, March 16, 2008. After it was too late to pick up and be scanned because I hate to wait till Tuesday to get it. I know Simon is a consultant for Sony BMG and guess who pushed up their date for their album. I love Kelley, but you can't tell me all those cd's in that wharehouse was overlooked on purpose. I contacted Wal-Mart and asked that they print a disclosure that Taylor's cd's were not shipped out to their stores. Target got theirs, but the closest Target to me is 3 hrs away. Wal-Mart is going to give me a reply tomorrow, I think they should do this because this has done Taylor harm. Taylor's family was even calling him telling him they couldn't find his cd last Tuesday, this is the reason why. This is just from my due diligence and you can due your own, it is my own opinion. What was told to me were facts, the other is my opinion, We all know Simon hates Taylor so bad he would never have to say I'm sorry, you made it.

Taylor Hicks won Season 5 on Idol because millions and millions of people voted for him. And not matter what Simon thought, it wasn't enough to change anything!!!!! Taylor and his substantial talent rocked Season 5, and he continues, like many other past Idols, to have a very good career going. Just because Simon wasn't smart enough to see Taylor's appeal means nothing. Don't get me wrong--Simon is my favorite judge, but he totally missed this one!!!!! The person who wins Idol each year wins because they are the total package, and Taylor was no exception. You naysayers should check out his concerts and concert reviews by normal, ordinary people. Most give them 5 stars out of 5. TMZ is a joke, and I have CDs of many of the Idols over the years, but I loved Taylor then and LOVE HIM NOW!!!

I voted for Taylor Hicks. I have followed him since his first audition on AI. I'm still following him and still enjoying his music and performing. What in the eff is up with people who find it necessary to constantly and persistently be ragging on Hicks? He received the most votes in Idol history. He is still working, and very busy. His first CD went Platinum. His new CD just came out. I still love him as much today as I did the first day I saw him perform. Lay off the man. He doesn't spend his time running down AI or Simon . It would certainly be understandable if he spent a lot of air time criticizing Simon, who was beyond rude to him, and has maligned Hicks at every possible opportunity he has gotten. So you don't care for his talents? Fine. Don't listen to him. Let the rest of us who enjoy the man enjoy him in peace. He broke the mold on AI. There will never be another like him on that show. Don't count him out---he's not done yet. Find someone else to spew your venom on. How about Danny Gokey? He's trying to cash in on his dead wife to get votes on Idol. By the way, I'm far from delusional. Now the people who are sending their money to Gokey's heart fund, which is actually sending their hard earned money to the coffers of his church---now THAT is delusional! Check it out.

Dorkey deserves your venom, but Taylor does not. He's not shoving dead relatives down anyone's throat, he's just trying to make music on his own terms. So, why the hate? He MADE American Idol. Season 5 had the highest ratings and made the most money on tour. It is Idol's treatment of him, and the obvious love for the bald one, that makes Idol lose credibility No reason they couldn't support the winner America chose and the winner they wanted.

Taylor is making music on his own terms. Kelly tried that, and got sucked back into Clive's clutches. She and Doughboy may sell miilions of records, but they are still Clives buttmonkeys, and Clive's payola will only last so long. Someday, they will have to make it on their own. Give Taylor a little credit for doing things his way. He may not be a superSTAH, but he can claim any sucess he has, as his own. (And yes, he has had success. Those alligator boots and Dolce and Gabbana suits don't pay for themselves!)

Taylor didn't ruin Idol, he won despite all the roadblocks Idol threw in front of him. He was a force, they could not stop. They don't want to let that happen again. Idol has always been fixed, Taylor just found a way to rise above it!

I like Taylor. Even Simon during Season 5 admitted that the boy could sing. He is different, and I don't know that the throwback style would have sold millions even if Idol had supported him. But the fact of the matter is, tptb have belittled and dismissed him so much as to rewrite history. I think Taylor must have really pissed someone off really bad.
