Twilight Author Stephenie Meyer Found Dead

The author of the Twilight books, Stephenie Meyer was found dead in her Phoenix, Arizona home. The 36-year-old mother of three may have overdosed on prescription pills. Several yet unidentified pill bottles and a suicide note were found nearby. None of the contents of the note have been made public. Sources at the scene indicate that Meyer was believed to be deceased approximately 36 hours prior to the discovery of her body by her husband of 15 years.
Rumors of a deepening depression have been circling around Meyer since the publicizing of derisive comments made by fellow author Stephen King in late 2008. Though these rumors, and whether they contributed to Meyer's apparent suicide, remain unconfirmed -- there is little doubt Meyer's countless adoring fans will begin to point fingers in King's direction.
What may prove even more disturbing to Twilight fans is that Meyer's shocking death has come prior to her completion of the fifth book in the Twilight series, Midnight Sun. Although Meyer's spokesperson has not yet commented on today's news or on the status of Midnight Sun, the book -- a portion of which was leaked on the internet last year -- is said to still be a work in progress despite Meyer publicly stating the project was on hold indefinitely. Whether or not Midnight Sun will ever see the light of day is now in question.
At this time Summit Entertainment still has plans to release two new movies based on her books, New Moon on Nov. 20 and Eclipse on June 30th, 2010. Both are sequels to the blockbuster hit Twilight starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
Meyer left behind her husband and three sons Gabe, Seth, and Eli.

To be honest, I found this April Fool's joke to be hilarious. Sure, joking around about someone's life is immoral and whatnot, but the thought of the multitude of obsessed fan girls breaking down, crying, possibly doing stupid things like suicide. I whole heartedly agree and am incredibly glad that I am not the only person out there who thinks like this.
That people are wishing death upon each other is just sickening to me, as is joking about suicide. These are not things we should trivialize. Indeed, it is equally absurd that we should think that just because someone's opinion of something differs from our own that they deserve death and moreover that we're ENTITLED to even say that this difference of opinion is punishable by death. Really, people, this is what wars are started over.
By all means, people, have opinions that differ from one another, but there is no need to become so angry when someone disagrees that you a) wish harm upon them or b) actually do that harm to them.
(I also agree with your statement about boyfriends. Edward Cullen, Jacob Black or any of the characters found in the Twilight Saga are not living, breathing people that you will meet on the street. Pushing these ideals on someone will only lead you to imminent disappointment and will no doubt also negatively affect the person that you are trying to make into someone that does not exist.)
