Khuram Sher was arrested on terrorism charges after Canadian Mounties discovered he, and two other men, had components which could be used to make explosive devices. Sher -- who likes hockey, music and acting -- auditioned for Canadian Idol. The alleged terrorist moonwalked across the stage while singing a rendition of Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated.”

Bizarro Paula asked him “Have you ever thought of being a comedian?” While Bizarro Simon complimented on his dance moves, “The dance moves were good, the singing, bad.”

Shar, who claimed he was from Pakistan, is actually a Canadian-born physician and graduate of McGill University. He was arrested after a year-long sting operation called Project Samosa.

The most shocking thing is that there is a Canadian Idol! I never knew. And why couldn't it have been Taylor Hicks who turned out to be a terrorist? That would explain a lot.

Fantasia Barrino has been hospitalized after overdosing on medication. Barrino was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville at about 8:55 p.m. Monday, according to WCNC. It's not known if the overdose was accidental or on purpose, however doctors say it was not life-threatening.

The American Idol winner made news after being accused of making a sex tape with a married man.

"Barrino was named in court documents involving Paula and Antwuan Cook. A complaint filed Wednesday by Paula Cook says her husband began having an affair with Barrino in August 2009.

Let's be honest, American Idol is far from dead. If awful shows like America's Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance are still on the air, AI can't be in too much trouble. But when did fans like myself start loosing interest in the show? For me it was season five when McCunty McPhee and Taylor Hicks won. McPhee and Hicks caused me to miss two seasons on AI, and it took Adam Lambert to win me back, only for Kara DioGuardi and Crystal Bowersox too make me loathe the show again.

Since the show isn't scripted and the contestants' fates are decided by public votes, the producers have little control over who wins and who goes home (unless you are one of the people who think it is fixed), but they did water down the product and slow down the show with four judges. Adding a forth judge and losing Paula Abdul was the show's first major slide. It also didn't help that Simon Cowell stopped being a judge, and became a cheerleader, out of fear of a Chris Daughtry repeat. Why do you think they brought back the "Judge's Save"?

While all these issues were hiccups in Idol's history, the one fatal flaw was when the judges stopped picking contestants based on talent, and acted like they were casting for The Real World instead of a singing competition. Fans had to deal with Danny Gokey's dead wife, and Sanjaya Malakar's hair, instead of watching favs like Carrie Underwood and Fantasia sing to victory. The show became about trying to find the next Justin Bieber or the biggest sob story instead of finding the best performer.

Last season was painful to watch. Casey James brought back nightmares of Hicks, the ultra untalented Tim Urban made it through on good looks, Aaron Kelly took over Kevin "Chicken Little" Covais's place, while runner-up Crystal Bowersox acted like she was above being on a reality TV show.  read more »

Maybe Paula Abdul is smarter than we think. At least she was smart enough to jump the American Idol ship before Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze hammered a few more nails in to its coffin. The final nail was of course Simon Cowell and Ellen Degeneres leaving the show.

Bikini Girl is throwing a party!

Today TMZ announced that Kara DioGuardi was fired, a very smart move, and Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are stepping in as the new judges. The only way us fans will have to suffer through DioGuardi for another season, is if the J-Lo deal falls apart. Keep your fingers crossed.

Why did season 9 favorite Crystal Bowersox lose American Idol? Because she refused to get her teeth cleaned, even after NYC celebrity dentist Laura Torrado offered to fix them for her. Sorry Mamma Fart Sox but nobody likes the dirty white girl look -- dreadlocks, feathers and bad dental hygiene just isn't acceptable for an American Idol.

For those of you who were hiding under a rock last night, 24-year-old former paint salesman, Lee DeWyze was crowned season 9's winner. I hate to take anything away from his victory but season 9 may have been one of the worst seasons of AI ever (season five being the worst IMO). Just look at the final three -- DeWyze, Bowercocks and retard Casey James. And lets not even talk about Kara DioGuardi.

I'm just glad Bowersox was not our final American Idol before the show falls apart next season.

I think Crystal Bowersox is very talented, but why would I vote for her to be the next American Idol when she doesn't seem to want to be on the TV show in the first place. At times Bowersox has even acted like she is above the show, and now according to TMZ, she even tried to quit a few weeks ago:

"Crystal Bowersox threw in the towel a little more than two weeks ago and was walking off the show, when Ryan Seacrest did some fast-talking and changed her mind. It went down in a parking lot after an 'A.I.' show. In front of several people, Crystal told Ryan she couldn't handle the competition.... she said she hated the attention and said to Seacrest, 'What's the point?' Crystal said she was going back to Ohio to be with her family, whom she missed terribly."

Reportedly Ryan told Bowersox, if she won she'd get a recording contract and become a millionaire, "The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house." His "pep-talk" worked and she decided to stay.

I'm not against "artists" who hate the whole fame game, but I'm also a fan of American Idol -- a TV show that is all about "selling-out" and creating superstars. I have watched thousands of people work their asses off to become the next American Idol, and I have seen thousands of people's hopes and dreams crushed. So why would I vote for someone who doesn't really seem to want it? It would be like spitting in the face of all the past contestants of the show.

Why would I vote for Bowersox when she thinks my votes and money are not worth it because she misses Ohio! Screw Ohio and screw Bowersox! Screw her, screw her yellow teeth, and screw her mutant kid! I hope she gets her wish and gets to go home real soon!  read more »

I actually defended the addition of Kara DioGuardi to American Idol last season, but that was before I realized she was a failed singer-songwriter who thinks she deserves to be famous even though she really isn't interesting. Also wasn't the whole point of firing Paula so could Simon talk uninterrupted? So why does Kara keep interrupting him? No one tunes in to hear her, we tune in to hear Simon and maybe Ellen DeGeneres on occasion. Kara should learn to keep her mouth shut when Simon is talking! At least Paula's interruptions were entertaining, like watching a train wreck entertaining, but entertaining. Kara is just annoying.! AI is really going to suck once Cowell leaves.

Oh yeah... DioGuardi appeared naked in Allure with Regina Hall, Colbie Caillat, Jessica Capshaw, and Emmanuelle Chriqui for some reason. Here is the picture!

Any Idol fan (and smart contestant) knows that the celebrity mentors on American Idol are not actually there to coach the performers. They are there to promote their latest albums and to bring in new viewers who wouldn't necessarily watch the show in the first place. So it should come as no surprise that this week's mentor is the lip syncing Miley Cyrus.

It should prove to be a very interesting show. I can't think of anything better to watch than Cyrus teaching Mike Lynche how to sing Billboard #1 Hits. Or Cyrus and Siobhan Magnus or Cyrus / Bowersox! Maybe there is hope for season 9 after all!  read more »

Mezhgan Hussainy confirmed to RadarOnline that she is engaged to American Idol's Simon Cowell.

"Sporting a beautiful sparkling engagement ring, Mezhgan was all smiles as she told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the couple, who are living together, are officially engaged."

The couple met on American Idol years ago. Simon’s publicist Max Clifford said the couple has been dating for about a year.

“They are very suited. She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He's probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I've been working with him."

Last night, American Idol eliminated four contestants; two from the men's side, and two from the women's side. The truth is they should've eliminated much more than that, but I guess FOX has sponsors to please, so this thing will have to last until May.

It's hard to find any of these cuts shocking when the performers themselves force you to spend the entire episode watching the clock, praying for it all to end.  read more »
