Wonder Woman's New Lindsay Lohan Leggings

Lindsay Lohan has made leggings so famous, even Wonder Woman has traded in her trademark shorts for a pair.

In the newest issue of her comic (available today) the iconic super heroine is sporting a new "darker, more modern costume."

Picture and quote from NY Daily News

"It's a new contemporary look that matches the storyline of the series," Dan DiDio, co-Publisher of DC Comics, told the News. "We wanted to reinvigorate a character that has had a [look developed] in the 1940s for the current audience and hopefully attract a new audience."

The costume change marks the landmark 600th issue of the Wonder Woman comic.

"If you take a half step back is there enough of Wonder Woman [in the new costume]. It really captures some many of the iconic imagery associated with the character -- the tiara, the bracelets, the bustier, and the belt. We're really hoping it sticks," said DiDio.  read more »

Smallville Season 9 Trailer

the wolfmanAt least I have Smallville season 9 to keep me occupied on September 25th, because I may never get to finish Battlestar 4.5 and Dollhouse season 1. I've exhausted all the online rental "free trials" that are available, so it's back to watching TV the old fashioned way -- on Hulu.com.

This looks like the season of Smallville to watch (perhaps the last season to watch?). Clark finally wears a Superman costume and it features the villains Metallo (Brian Austin Green) and Zod (Callum Blue). Plus it never gets old laughing at Green Arrow's gay hoodie. It reminds me of Xena at the end, when they stopped giving a fuck.

Check out the trailer for season 9 below.

This shit is going to be good!

P.S. That is NOT the official poster. It was made by this guy.  read more »

The Lucky 13 Villains We Would Like to See in Batman 3

Christopher Nolan has said he wants to use more of the more unknown Batman villians "because there are so many of them to choose from". Well, "many" is an extreme exaggeration.. "a few" is a bit more accurate. Mostly due to the majority of Batman villians being third rate charactors who are only interesting when they team-up with each other. The ones who can hold their own though are usually the ones that are a bit out there and would be next to impossible to present in any realistic fashion. Thankfully, Nolan's also said he will never use the Penguin in his movies (or Robin for that matter). So there's at least that. I just hope they don't go with the likes of Egghead, King Tut, Ma Parker, Calendar Man, Hush or that stupid Anarchy guy from the 90s. I'm pretty sure they're smarter than that, but who knows! At any rate we're just gonna cover the best and most probable villains that would fit into or could be made to fit into Nolan's realistic Gotham City.  read more »

Screw The Dark Knight - Watchmen Teaser Trailer Looks Awesome

Don't even read this, just watch the teaser trailer inside. Zack Snyder's Watchmen looks phenomenal, the trailer actually gave me goose bumps, and no trailer has done that since Joss Whedon's Serenity in 2005.

They are calling it "the most celebrated graphic novel of all time,” which is not a stretch. The movie set for a 2009 release stars: Jeffery Dean Morgan as Edward Blake, aka, The Comedian; Malin Akerman as Laurie Juspeczyk, aka, Silk Spectre II; Billy Crudup as Jon Osterman, aka, Dr. Manhattan; Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach; and Stephen McHattie as Hollis Mason, aka, Nite Owl.

Synopsis: There are like 6 plot descriptions on IMDB.com, you can read them all here. I just randomly selected one for no good reason.

An adaptation of Alan Moore's landmark comic book series, Watchmen is a story set in an alternative 1985, where the world is ticking closer to the brink of nuclear war, and a plot to eliminate a band of ex-crimefighters is instigated, but why? and by whom? It is up to two of those ex-crimefighters to investigate the plot that seems to go beyond the unthinkable.  read more »

This Week in Bad Comic Ideas: Combo-Man

We were heavily debating what our second Bad Comic Idea should be. Lots of names were thrown around from Superman VS Muhammad Ali to The Fantastic Four, but then I remembered I had a Combo-Man phone card back in 1996. It was a no brainer. Yes Combos the snack food had a super-hero. He was a mismatch of Marvel characters (surprise, surprise that the House of Stupid Ideas was behind it) hence the "combo" part. I started to do a little research and found someone else had done it for me.

Here are Comb-Man's Stats: (Combo-Man's history and more pictures here.)

This Week in Bad Comic Ideas: Power Pack Pedophile

This is the first in our "Bad Comic Ideas" where we will cover the worst comic ideas in history, from Combo Man to Nam.

This Week: Kids in Spandex = Pedophile Comics

POWER PACK

Little kids in spandex? Fine, because why can't children be superheroes also? Well because little kids in spandex are creepy. Welcome to Power Pack the Marvel comic no one ever wanted.

Marvel Comics was always smart enough to keep pants on their monsters (no wolfman nards visual please!), but they were also smart enough not to give their children superheroes any camel-toe or prepubescent bulge shot, however that doesn't give them a pass for the Power Pack being a pedophile dream! Because who else would be interested in little girls and boys in skin tight spandex? Can you recall and actual Power Pack adventure?

Here are a few! They dealt with Environmental pollution, sexual abuse (special issue), drug abuse, runaways, kidnapping and underage child anal rape.  read more »
