I don't know the entire story behind this Mexican Playboy cover, someone just sent it to me and said Mexicans and the Catholic Church are pissed about it. María Florencia Onori appears dressed (and undressed) as the Virgin Mary or Lady of Guadalupe (is that the same chick?) in the December issue and I guess that is a big No No.

I think Mary used to bang Jesus or some shit like that, I don't really know anything about religion, and I'm too hungover to Google it. Lets just say she is one really important bitch that you don't fuck with. Kind of like Madonna or Opera. The issue has sold over 80,000 copies since its release on December 11th.

I'm going to tell Mexico what my mom used to tell me" "Stop your bitching, there are some countries that don't even have their own version of Playboy, be grateful that you do."

Playboy did issue this apology:

"While Playboy Mexico never meant for the cover or images to offend anyone, we recognize that it has created offense, and we as well as Playboy Mexico offer our sincerest apologies."

However, Raul Sayrols, publisher of Playboy Mexico said, "The image is not and never was intended to portray the Virgin of Guadalupe or any other religious figure. The intent was to reflect a Renaissance-like mood on the cover."  read more »
