Quentin Tarantino Wants Britney Spears for Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

Somehow I managed to miss this. Is it still true that Quentin Tarantino really wants to cast Britney Spears in his remake of the cult classic Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!? Or was this already proven false?

The Daily Telegraph reported on August 6th that Tarantino wants Spears to play, Varla -- "a stripper who murders the boyfriend of a young couple with her bare hands before taking the girlfriend hostage."

A source said: "Quentin is convinced Britney will be brilliant. She's delighted. She thinks it could turn her career around. It is perfect Tarantino material. He wanted to get Britney first. She's playing the most important character."

I know Britney won a "Worst Actress" Razzie for her performance in Crossroads, but the Razzie people are dumb, and sometimes choose the easy target. She really wasn't that bad in the film, and maybe under the direction of Tarantino she could be a little better. I, however, still don't believe Quentin is really planning on casting her. The Telegraph is also not the best news source out there.

It would definitely be pretty interesting if it turned out to be true though.  read more »

Quentin Tarantino to Direct Brad Pitt

Quentin Tarantino must have learned his lesson from his last film, Grindhouse flopping. So he is making sure his new film, Inglorious Bastards has a little more star power -- Brad Pitt.

Inglorious Bastards is based on Enzo G. Castellari’s 1978 movie with the same name. Tarantino plans to have his version premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2009. Simon Pegg and Nastassja Kinski are also in talks to join the cast along with Pitt.

Kinski is the daughter of Klaus Kinski, she gained notoriety by appearing naked in the horror film To the Devil a Daughter while still a minor. Bet they will keep that out of the movie's PR.
